How to Sell Your DVC Membership: A Step-by-Step Guide
Your Essential Roadmap to a Smooth Disney Vacation Club Resale Process

Are you considering selling your Disney Vacation Club membership but unsure where to start? With the right information and a trusted resale partner, the process can be straightforward and rewarding. Follow this step-by-step guide to confidently navigate your DVC resale journey and secure the best value for your membership.
1. Calculate Your Membership’s Value
At DVC Sales, you have the power to set your listing price, so it's essential to spend some time determining your membership's potential value. Utilize our Resale Value Calculator to automatically price your contract. We provide a range of suggested per-point prices tailored to your specific membership.
The number of points currently available is a major factor in determining your membership's worth. Review our current DVC resale listings for similar contracts to gauge a reasonable asking price.
Our team at DVC Sales assists sellers in determining the appropriate price for their contract daily. Contact us if you have questions about pricing your membership.
2. Create a Listing
Begin by creating an account. Click the button in the top right-hand corner of this screen. You'll be guided through prompts to set up an account and publish your listing on our website. To save time, have your contract and member ID number ready.
To ensure accuracy, we'll request your electronic signature to contact Disney on your behalf for a current Point Activity Statement (PAS). This step verifies your membership and confirms the number of points available. We complete this process for all new listings to ensure authenticity.
3. Wait for Offers!
You'll receive an automated email or text when an offer is made on your listing. Some buyers may have specific requests for particular memberships. If your contract meets their criteria, they will be notified of your new listing.
4. The Closing Process
Once a buyer places an offer, you'll be notified immediately by text or email through our automated system. You can then accept or place a counteroffer with the buyer. If both parties agree on the terms, an agreement will be automatically generated. Once signed, we'll send you and the buyer a copy of the fully executed agreement and forward the contract to our title company and Disney to initiate the ROFR process.
ROFR, or Right Of First Refusal, involves sending your contract to the Disney Vacation Club Review Board. Disney has 30 days (usually less) to review the proposed terms of every contract sold on the resale market. Disney may step in as the buyer about 15%-20% of the time. This process ensures DVC membership prices remain aligned with current resale market values.
If Disney chooses to repurchase the contract, you will receive the same amount of money you had agreed upon with your buyer. Once a contract passes through ROFR, you're one step closer to closing. The entire process typically takes about 30-45 days from when both parties have signed a contract.
As a seller, you will receive the contract price minus $150 for Disney's ROFR and estoppel fee and our real estate commission. Buyers are responsible for reimbursing the seller for the dues for this year (based on the number of points available and bankable) and pay all closing costs. This means more money in your pocket!
